Who is Zen?
Zen Yokel is a creative marketer with deep roots in rock, hip-hop, and pop music and has worked with up and coming artists in Los Angeles, San Diego, New York and beyond. He not only helps artists and other creatives bring their visions to life, but aims to expand their reach and audience while doing so.
An artist himself, Zen formerly handled bass guitar duties in the rock band Kocean, a mainstay in the San Diego scene that has played at numerous iconic venues, and even opened up for touring acts such as Denzel Curry. While working to get his own music, as well as others', out to whoever would listen, Zen learned the power and capabilities of marketing in a digital space.
While studying to earn his bachelor's degree in marketing from San Diego State University, Zen also led the school's music business club, Aztec Music Group, as president, pioneering initiatives such as the live web series 'Basement Beats' (see video tab), and many other events which brought the members of the community's music scene together.
