Throughout his years at San Diego State University, Zen heavily invested himself into the campus' music scene. From 2022 to 2023, he served as the President of Aztec Music Group, SDSU's premier music-business club. While doing so, he helped pioneer 'Basement Beats,' a web series that showcases local talent live from the newsroom of SDSU's newspaper, The Daily Aztec. Going forward, Zen developed longstanding relationships with the members of The Daily Aztec, and would count on them to provide coverage for his events with Aztec Music Group. Additionally, Zen has written for The Daily Aztec, providing coverage on Police front man, Sting, when he stopped in San Diego during his 2023 "My Songs" tour.
